The position paper on the proposed 3 Bills chairman by Engr,Hon,Akarachi Etinosa Amadi held at Conference Hall 231 House of Representatives on the above date, witness stakeholders position on the following bills.

1 Federal College of Fisheries Technology And Maritime Studies(HB, 2189) to be sited at NGO, Rivers State, considered Geographically & Ecologically suitable at the Niger Delta Region (2) Federal Institute of Diving Technology (HB,112) as a specialized institution for Diving, is timely need to align with the expansion of the Nigerian Blue Economy as an initiative to support the development of human capital in critical areas of offshore and aquaculture operation and the (3) Brackish water Fisheries Research Institute ( HB,2349) which is to support the institute in advancing and addressing the missing gap in the management of Nigeria Brackish water Eco-system as a critical security food need,rural livelihood& Ecological balance as lead innovation in the Estuary species development Eco-system Monitoring,& Sustainable Fisheries Exploitation.
The Federal Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture FDFA Convey their position paper, showing appreciation and support for the Establishment of the 3 Institutions considering it's importance, Objective and Strategic relevance, for the growth advancement and development of the nation Fisheries and aquaculture and maritime sector.
Stakeholders at the public hearing captured and in support of the 3 Bills included Dr,Ebinimi J Ansa, National President, Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON) Dr,Abubakar Adamu Dabbon, Mr,Onoragbon Wellington,who is the Director Federal Department of Fisheries & Aquaculture, federal ministry of marine & Blue Economy.Others Included Prof,Sule Abiodun Executive Director CEO of Nigerian Institute of Oceanography And Marine Research
