2027 Benue Governorship: Christian Elders Back Rev. Tor Uja as Preferred Candidate
By Emmanuel Undie The Benue State Christian Elders Forum has endorsed Rev. Dr. Tor Uja as its preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election in the state. The endorsement was announced on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, during the 2026 Benue Christian Congress held at the Jerusalem Mission House in Makurdi. Speaking at the event, Archbishop Benjamin Kurudu, on behalf of the Christian Elders, said the decision followed consultations among Christian communities across Benue State. He noted that Rev. Uja emerged as a consensus choice and called on residents to support his candidacy in the 2027 election. Also speaking, Hon. Caleb Aba, representing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), welcomed Rev.
