LAWMAKERS SEEKS CLARIFICATION ON POWER DISTRIBUTION AND TARIFFS 
The Adhoc Committee on the need to investigate and audit the allocations and Expenditures on the Implementation of Nigeria's Electrical Power Sector Reform Programme tasks NERC as a Regulatory body to furnish the committee with the necessary information about their Regulatory functions and functionaries both on electricity Distributions and Tarrif plans attached to the service provided. 
The Acting-Chairman, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission, Engr. Abdullahi Garba Ramat alongside Other notable NERC officials include, Commissioner (Legal, Licensing and Compliance): Mr. Dafe Akpeneye, Commissioner (Corporate Services): Nathan Shatti said that, the commission was able to sets up Business Roles which sets out the foundamental  tenets  of of actions of the commission which was issued in 2006 to avoid monopoly of operations like transmission company, system operators company, training company among others. Those questions  that appeared to put  the Acting Chairman of Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission Engr Abdullahi Garba Ramat on hot- Seat  were issues of off head billing of consumers of power without Meyers alongside other questions on Sheedy  deals exhibited by the power sector activities which form the major mandate of the committee.projected to expose the fraud,action, in action , inefficiencies and systematic  failure . being committed by the stakeholders and operators. designed for actionable solutions as a safe guide seeking necessary expertise that urgently needed to be brought to bear for development of nation power Sector.
The other issues on the front burnt concerning the Agencies were on incomplete submission of relevant documents required for the Ad -hoc committee to do their work as expected to meet the dateline recalled section 89 order 20: call for a need to ensure service delivery and capacity to build effective results done and executed according to duty requirements or rule of the game.
In conclusion, however, both of the Agencies who appeared before the committee on Monday December 8th which is NERC and Azura were given 48hrs to submit the required documents to the Committee and to be on ground to defend the papers Azura  were to return on Monday December 15 th
Recalled that the committee inaugurated on the 17/11/2025 at Room 231 House of Representatives with the mandate to investigate the power Sector Reform Programme was focused to expose and probe the fraud in the Power Sector was ably represented by Hon Etaba Etaba who posited that he was on hold to speak the word ,& mind of the speaker which he saw as an honour and a challenge to stand on this which is not only timing but also necessary
