All roads led to the College of Nursing Sciences, Obudu, as the institution held its 2nd Capping Ceremony, also known as the Matriculation Ceremony, on April 17, 2026, at the college premises.
The event was chaired by High Chief Tony Undiandeye and witnessed the presence of several distinguished personalities. Among them was Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, Honourable Commissioner for Health, Cross River State, who also represented the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Apostle Dr. Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
Other notable dignitaries in attendance included Barr. Orok Bassey Okon, Head of Service, Cross River State; His Royal Majesty, Utsu Felix Abanbeshie Okudare, Paramount Ruler of Obudu and Royal Father of the Day, who was accompanied by members of the Traditional Rulers Council; Barr. Emmanuel B. Odu; Udie Mike; HRH Utsu Cornelius Ukem; HRH Utsu Edward Undeabe; Bob JohnPaul; HRH Utsu Samson U. Ogar, Clan Head of Begiading; Likwu Ali Norah; Alhaji Kasim Ali (Sarki Hausa, Obudu); HRH Utsu Emma Ugbong; HRH Godfrey Atsu; Ezekiel Adie; Prince Richard Ushie; Obogo Peter; Liko Sylvester Liko (Miss Heritage); Miss Consob (Face of Consob); and Lanni Pascal Bessong, among others.
During the ceremony, Dr. Mrs. Victoria Undeshi, Provost of the College, stood out prominently for her exceptional leadership and foundational contributions to the growth and development of the institution. Her remarkable achievements and dedication earned her well-deserved recognition and commendation, reflecting her lasting impact on the college. Macfrank was also among the three award recipients honoured at the event.

In his remarks, the Honourable Commissioner for Health responded positively to the requests of the Paramount Ruler, assuring the college of government support, including the provision of a larger coaster bus. He encouraged the students to remain focused and committed to their studies in order to fulfill their professional calling and justify the government’s investment in their education.
The Governor’s representative also urged parents of the matriculating students to provide the necessary support and encouragement to help their children succeed in their academic pursuits.
The ceremony concluded on a high note, marking another significant milestone in the advancement of the College of Nursing Sciences, Obudu.
