The dual Mandate Degree programme of Federal College Of Education Obudu was held over the weekend at  Senator Greg.Ngaji lecture hall on Friday April 24th 2026.
 Which exhibited 286 certificate for TRCN (Teachers Registration Council presented by Dr.Rose  Anikwe induction with Ukah Amos Utsu,,Ekum Victoria Joseph & Imun Joseph Ikwen representing the rest of the students,while Oath taken by the students against involvement in cultism, Examination malpractices, and  indicent dresses &other social malady that will not be tolerated and to be shunned by the students. Which was
taken by Dr Mrs Ronke Soyombo who was represented by Dr Regina Ogbogo.
The good news, courtesy the manifestive College Trail blazers provost brought to bear ,is that F CE Obudu now runs its  own Degree programmes away from affiliation from The University of Calabar .Ugbaha also promised to equipt  ICT centre stressing.  that,Five years degree programme approved. by the NuC, NCCF, which  he highlighted that NCE, that after 3 years NCE program students,will  under go another 2; years for a degree programme.
Utubaku appreciated  the support of Dr Mrs Angelia for her Role -play at the leadership & Quality assurance while encouraging hardwork,he also commended  the Ex-Secretary of the National Education Commission to uphold standards. While frowning at lackadaisical attitude of some of the academic staff ,remarking that the College  can not be drawn back "I will never go back to Egypt "
On the Education Loan Funds,establishment, the provost harps on early payment of school fees as the prerequisites for accessing the 100%back to the students.and also keenly appreciated CBT for granting the college  intervention for Street Light and fencing the college. . and appreciated the funds as Renewed hope academic program of the president Bola Ahmed Tinubu ,s government.
The man of the moment  encouraged the contractors at the Babi Campus to return to site.
He also encouraged the old students to come back at least with one student by next session noting that every thing is in place and functional in the college
A total of 1420. students matriculated.during the ceremony at the Dual event in FCE,Obudu going places with Focus,-Driven Provost scoring goals.and calling for implementation of consistent policies that encourages growth especially in Vocational & TechnicalCourses amongst others.  Seeking to impact on the teachers career as a core mandate that requires the best for our motherland.

The Provost, Federal College of Education Obudu, Dr Richard Ugbaha Utubaku on Friday charged the Management and staff of the College to live up to their bid so as to maintain standards, fast track development and sustain the lead among Colleges in the Country.

The College Boss gave the  charge at the 1st Dual Mandate Degree, 43rd NCE Programmes and 5th TRCN Induction ceremony held at the Senator Greg Ngaji's Lecture Theatre.

Accordingly, Dr Ugbaha maintained that "for the College to sustain it's lead among the committee of Colleges in Nigeria, Management and Staff must consistently implement policies and programmes that encourages growth and enhances standards especially in vocational and technical courses among others while Lecturers must as a call, publish their results promptly so as to enable council graduate students at the stipulated period and enrol degree programme students for National Youth Service Corp (NYSC), hitherto, this call for proactiveness and courage". 

The Provost also call on students to see their admission as a privilege to better their future while admonishing them to shun anti social vices such as cultism, examination malpractices, indicent dressing and gangsterism while urging the new inductees to see teaching as noble profession and role model in the society. 

Earlier, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria, Dr (Mrs) Ronke Soyombo while noting that teaching is the first profession advised the newly Certified students to formulate techniques and systems that will enhance teaching career as well as giving their best to their motherland. 

She stressed that "teaching is a first and best profession because everyone that becomes something inl
 life at some point was trained by a teacher, so I want all of you to see the profession as the best'. 

Speaking further, Dr Ronke said the objective as well as idea behind the establishment of the Council is to enhance professionalism and train teachers that can be accepted within and outside the country.
