During the mass capping ceremony in Obudu, several distinguished and illustrious dignitaries addressed key issues, highlighting the remarkable contributions and achievements of the Provost of the College. They expressed appreciation for her leadership and commended her efforts in advancing the institution.
In his remarks, the Director, Udie Mike, spoke extensively on the Provost’s performance, particularly her role in organizing the second matriculation ceremony.
He noted that the calibre of guests and dignitaries present at the event was a clear testament to the growing reputation of the college and the impactful leadership of its indigenous Provost, who is steadily elevating the institution to higher standards.
He expressed optimism about the future of the college, encouraging the Provost to sustain the current momentum. He projected that, within the next five years, the institution could reach even greater heights, stating that “the sky will be the limit,” and wished the management and students continued success.
Reflecting on the development of Obudu, the Director acknowledged that the town is endowed with intellectual capacity but lamented the absence of key infrastructure, such as a shopping mall, despite ongoing efforts to attract business development.
On the state of the nation, he emphasized the importance of tolerance and unity, cautioning against the suppression of opposing views. He stated, “We should not oppress the opposition. My prayer is that we live and let live; otherwise, we may not reach the promised land.”
